Partizan Parts Ways with Zach LeDay.

Partizan first thanked Zach LeDay and then announced his release. The American forward, formerly of Olympiacos, had one more year left on his contract with the Serbian team, but their cooperation ended prematurely.

Major Changes at Partizan.

Partizan is undergoing significant reorganizations, reshaping the team from its foundations. The impact of a disappointing 2023-24 season, marked by back-to-back defeats to Red Star in both the Adriatic League and the Serbian league finals, has led to disruptions but also set the stage for a new era. In this new era, Zach LeDay will no longer have a role.

LeDay, who played for Olympiacos in the 2018-19 season, spent three years in Belgrade. Despite having a contract until next summer, he was released by Partizan and is now a free agent in the Euroleague market.

Acknowledgment and Departure.

Partizan publicly thanked LeDay for his contributions over the years. During the Euroleague season that ended with Panathinaikos as champions and Partizan failing to reach the Playoffs, LeDay averaged 10.6 points and 4.6 rebounds. Last year, he was a key figure in the near-qualification to the Final Four in Kaunas, but his performances, like those of Kevin Punter, diminished. Both players eventually lost their spots on the team, with Punter now set to play for Barcelona next season. LeDay is already receiving offers in the market.

New Additions to Partizan.

Despite these departures, coach Zeljko Obradovic’s team has made several new additions. Vanja Marinkovic has joined from Baskonia, Iffe Lundberg from Virtus Bologna, and Frank Ntilikina has returned to Europe after seven seasons in the NBA.
