Partizan beats Alba Berlin and hopes for a play-in spot.

Partizan secured a crucial victory against Alba Berlin, putting them in contention for a spot in this year’s Euroleague Play-In. Partizan is now just one win away from securing 10th place, which grants entry to the Euroleague Play-In. Željko Obradović’s team, with Z. Leday back in action, managed to overcome Berlin with a final score of 83-94. The leading scorer for the visitors was J. Nunnally, who contributed 17 points and 4 assists. On the Alba Berlin side, J. Thiemann showcased outstanding form with 20 points, 11 rebounds, and 2 assists. Partizan’s hope now hinges on Efes, who is facing Fenerbahce on the road today; a loss for Efes would give Partizan a chance to enter the Play-In if they secure a win in the last round against Valencia at the Stark Arena.

Partizan’s match against Alba Berlin.

Partizan took to the court with one sole objective: to secure a victory from the very start of the game. Despite a stellar performance by the Germans, Željko Obradović’s team left no room for hope of a better outcome. Partizan seized control of the game from the outset, establishing a significant lead that ultimately extended to 11 points by the game’s conclusion. With this win, the Serbs now boast a record of 15 wins and 18 losses, reducing their point differential (PTS+/PTS-) to -33. This places them in 11th position in the Euroleague standings. Meanwhile, Efes occupies 10th place with one game fewer, facing Fenerbahce today, boasting 15 wins, 17 losses, and a point differential of -31.

Can Partizan secure a spot in the Euroleague Play-In?

For Partizan to qualify for the play-in, they will have to defeat Valencia in the 34th round at Stark Arena, their home ground. Valencia, who bid farewell to any hopes of entering the play-in, suffered a loss to ASVEL Villeurbanne with a score of 69-98. Additionally, Efes must be defeated by Fenerbahce today, regardless of whether they win against Crvena Zvezda in the final round of the Euroleague.

Another contender in a better position than both Efes and Partizan is Emporio Armani Milano. By winning two games, firstly at home against Virtus Bologna today, and then in the last round away against an indifferent Maccabi(securing 7th place) Milano can surpass the other two competitors and secure a spot in the play-in.
