Partizan Advances to Serbian League Finals as Nunnally and Dozier Depart.

Victory Against Mega Basket Secures Final Spot.

On Thursday night (30/5), Partizan secured a 2-1 victory against Mega Basket, punching their ticket to the finals of the Serbian league, where they will face Red Star. The win was a significant achievement for the team, but the same night also saw two of their players saying goodbye and leaving Belgrade.

Departures of James Nunnally and PJ Dozier.

James Nunnally and PJ Dozier are departing due to their expiring contracts, and head coach Želimir Obradović had no plans to utilize them further, given the domestic league’s restriction allowing only four foreign players. Both players are set to travel to the USA on Friday (31/5).

Dozier is not expected to return to Partizan next season. However, the situation is different for Nunnally. The management is open to discussions regarding the possibility of renewing his contract.

Frank Kaminski’s Earlier Departure.

It’s worth noting that Frank Kaminski had already left the team following the conclusion of the ABA League finals, where Partizan was defeated 3-0 by Ioannis Sfairopoulos’s team.

Season Performances of Departing Players.

During the 2023/24 season, Nunnally delivered solid performances, averaging 12.3 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 2.6 assists in 27 minutes and 45 seconds per game across 32 EuroLeague matches. Similarly, Dozier, in his rookie season in Europe’s top interclub competition, averaged 9.2 points, 3 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game, playing 21 minutes per match.

Looking Ahead to the Finals.

With the finals against Red Star on the horizon, Partizan will aim to build on their recent success while adjusting to the absence of key players. The team’s performance and adaptability in the finals will be crucial as they strive for the championship.
