Olympiacos' Journey to the Euroleague Final Four: A Tribute.

Olympiacos’ Journey to the Euroleague Final Four: A Tribute.

Olympiacos will participate for the third year in a row in the Final Four of the Euroleague, and the organizing authority has created a video tribute in view of the Piraeus team’s participation in Berlin.

In this tribute, the 2013 trophy victory with Giorgos Bartzokas on the bench is highlighted, along with statements from the Greek coach, Kostas Papanikolaou, and Tomas Walkup.

Kostas Papanikolaou’s Reflections.

Initially, Kostas Papanikolaou spoke in the video:

“It’s like flying when you’re here. All the efforts and sacrifices from the season are finally paying off. It’s the same feeling as going to the Final Four for the first time. You can’t get enough. This is the sport. Love to play basketball. Want to stay at the same level for years and claim titles. I have been given this opportunity many times. It’s a blessing and I feel very lucky.”

Tomas Walkup on the Season’s Journey.

Then Thomas Walkup took the floor:

“It was a long, dramatic season. We finally found our rhythm in the last stretch of the season and carried it into the Playoffs. For the Final Four, that’s what we’re playing for. This season has had a lot of ups and downs. There were periods when we played very badly and had injuries. Through it all, our fans stood by us. We should have won the final with Real last year. We didn’t make it. Nobody was happy. But we are here again with the same mentality. We went there, we tried and now it’s time to win.”

Giorgos Bartzokas on the Challenges Faced.

And finally, Giorgos Bartzokas emphasized:

“It was a really interesting experience for the whole club. Of course, I can also say very emotional. We had so many injuries, so many problems. Basketball is unpredictable. You can do everything, be 100% successful and lose the match. Last season it was like this. We are confident in ourselves and we are confident that we will be very competitive in the semi-final.”
