Mike James has succeeded Sasha Vezenkov as the 2023-2024 EuroLeague MVP, becoming the first MVP since 2004-2005 not to compete in the Final Four.

The first MVP without a Final Four.

The voting by fans, journalists, captains, and coaches of the EuroLeague teams highlighted Mike James as the MVP for the 2023-2024 season. James made history this season by surpassing Vassilis Spanoulis to become the competition’s all-time leading scorer. He was awarded the top individual title after averaging 17.9 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 5.1 assists per game.

Despite his stellar performance, Mike James and his team, AS Monaco, will not be in the 2024 Final Four. Monaco was knocked out by Fenerbahce in the playoffs, despite having home-court advantage. This marks the first time since the EuroLeague introduced the MVP award in 2004-2005 that the MVP will not participate in the final phase of the competition.
